****FAMILY REUNION BEAR LAKE **** *********AUGUST 5-8 2009*********

WE HAVE RESERVATIONS. The only thing available was a tent only group area, but they said there was no problem with sleeping in a regular vehicle if it had a bed in it (ie. Bill's van), but motorhomes aren't allowed. I know that messes with Ruth's back. Maybe Bill could drive his van up, but sleep in a tent and let Ruth and Craig sleep in the van? So now, we need committment in the form of a $16 deposit (to offset the charge to my credit card) from each family planning on attending. I will keep a list somewhere on this blog of who has committed to come. IF EVERY FAMILY COMES IT WOULD ONLY BE $16 PER FAMILY FOR THE WHOLE 3 DAYS. Then the only other expense would be your gas to get there, food, and if you wanted to rent fun water equipment while you are there. If some don't come, we will distribute the additional cost to those who sign up.
If you want to check it out, it is the Big Creek group area of Rendezvous Beach Campground at Bear Lake, Utah. There is a pavillion, firepits, two cooking thingys and hot showers/restrooms, and it is near the beach. Sounds like a blast!

Family Reunion Aug 2009

I have only seen Tara and Jen checking out this site, so if you two would please pass the word. I am sorry to say that we are unable to get the condo/camping combo that Kim was trying to arrange. We would all have to be direct family. To Kim's Grandparents. But there is a really nice campground called Rendezvous Beach with hot showers and several group sites. Reservations are on first call first served at 7 am on a certain day. I will do that, but I really need some kind of committment. I know it is early, and no one really knows what they will be doing 11 1/2 weeks from now, but if
you are willing to make THIS a priority, and put it on your calendars now, THIS is what you will be doing 11 1/2 months from now!!

We are trying for either August 5-8 or 12-15, depending on when I can get reservations. I will send a piece to glue on your circus tents when I know for sure of the date.

Thanks, and let's have the best, largest reunion yet!! I'll do everything I can to make it worth your time. Aunt Bev

A Bevy of Thoughts

Hello to the fam. I am letting you know that the Armstrong and related additions are now available through MY very own blog - which I am adding to the links. From there all the kids - except James and Cami, and Karen and Jeffrey, have their pages linked - including websites where their art, music and other special sites are listed. So, come to my site, then check on my kids. James and Karen don't have blog spots yet (BOOOOOOO) but I am working on them. I will keep you all informed about next year's family reunion. We are working through Kim (Ned's Kim) and her family to reserve some camping and condo spots in an area reserved for members. We will probably get a count as to how many need indoor, shared housing, and how many want to camp/trailer/motorhome. We will probably add a little cost to the campers and away from the condo-ers (exact amount later) so that we all feel alright about sharing the kitchen, showers, and aminities of the condos with the campers. Anyway - more later.. Love to all, Just Bev

Britta Elizabeth Hurd

Britta Elizabeth Hurd was born to Billy and Jen Hurd on the 4th of July at 10:49 in the morning. She weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and measured 20 inches long.
Britta and Jen are both healthy and happy and are expected to come home from the hospital on Sunday.
Jen labored at home from Wednesday the 2nd around 6pm until Thursday about 8pm when we went to the hospital. She was fully dilated and began pushing by around 6:30 Friday morning, but Britta was coming down face up with her head tilted back, which made it impossible to come down on her own. After almost 4 hours of pushing, it became apparent that Britta would need to come out via Cesarean section and she was born about 30 minutes later. Both Britta and Jen were absolutely amazing throughout the whole process. Jen stayed calm and in control without any medication until they took her into surgery after 41 hours of labor and Britta was just as stable, never showing any signs of distress. Britta scored a 9 (out of 10) on her APGAR test at both the 1-minute and the 5-minute test. They are both recovering well at Clovis Community Hospital.
We are so excited to share our news with everyone! Please help us by forwarding this email to anyone else who may be interested, since we do not have an email address for everyone that we'd like to tell. Also, please give Jen and Britta a few days to recover before visiting or calling. If you'd like to talk to us, please call Billy on his cell phone at (801) 427-1341, or you can always send us an email. We really would love to talk to all of you, but it may be a while before we have time to make any phone calls.
Thanks to all of you for your love and support,
Billy, Jen and Britta Hurd

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the Bev-Bill-Ruth blog. Hopefully you find this useful and/or interesting. If not, there's something seriously wrong with you...because this blog is all about YOU.

The consensus at the reunion last week was that a once-a-year shindig isn't nearly enough time for us to connect and catch up. Alas, this blog was born.

Use this site to post updates (I'm engaged! I'm moving! I'm cross-dressing on the weekends!), submit a few pictures, reminisce about reunions past, and put new information about the next family reunion.

In conjunction to this site, there will be a flickr account where we'll keep an online photo album of reunion pictures so everyone can see each of our handsome mugs. I'll post when that's been set up. UPDATE: The flickr site has been created! Check it out at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bevbillruth/
I'll email the directions on how to post your pics.

I'll be sending out links and passwords to all of this, but if you've come here sans password and would like to post, send an email to bevbillruth at gmail.com (Replace the "at" with an "@" without any spaces; I would just spell it out, but then those spam bots would read it and pretty soon the only updates we'd get would be about cheap pharmaceuticals or Nigerian dignitaries in need of your services.)

This year was a great one--a huge thanks to Craig and Ruth. Besides the incredible whitewater trip, my favorite moment was the homemade ice cream! What was yours?
